Hi everyone from a very cold snowy Prague. I am actually trying to spend some time before heading to the airport for my plane to Amsterdam where I finally will be getting my Akkerman Inks  :) November 2 was officially announced as Fountain Pen day and there will be a lot of enthusiast around the world celebrating this day as well as pen manufacturers. I will be back at home on October 30 but I have some plans to celebrate this great day together.

We can also arrange a fountain pen meeting with the ones who can participate. What do you think?

Cheers,

PS: By the way, I would like to thank all who called, e-mailed, sent good wishes. We have found the competent surgeon who will make the operation to my sister. She will be operated after the festive. I am planning to be in Ankara at that weekend.  So I thank everyone who supported me at the meantime.

  2. Akkerman ink! Their reputation precede them. I have heard lots about it, just never have a chance to sample it. The bottle simply looks extraordinary.
It is such a relief that your sister will be under great medical care! We will continuously keep her in our minds, and channel warmest thoughts to her and your family.
I will love to meet on the Fountain Pen Day, but unfortunately I am in nowhere close. I will celebrate the day in spirit with most of my fountain pen friends :)

    1. Thank you Shangching. I am really wondering to use the Akkerman inks and try to see how it works. As you know they have a great reputation.

For the meeting: we will meet some day for sure :)

    2. Whenever I get a new ink, I will start visualizing a numbers of pairing with pens. When I got my Platinum maki-e fountain pen, I paired with Iroshizuku murasaki, since both items gave me similar ethos. But I am sure which ever pairing you come up with, it will be great!

    3. When I get my Maki-e I used it with its own black cartridge. Then I craved for a red ink. I don't know why I thought it is the best ink to use.

    4. I am superb bad when it comes to using enclosed cartridges :p I found the blue or blank either bland or boring, so I usually go straight to converter or use comparable empty cartridge to fill fun ink.

    5. I don't like cartridges either. But I carried this pen with its cartidge to Milan and then started using cartidge there. My plan was to throw cartridge away while getting on the plane but I took the risk and decided to keep it on the plane. And it was quite Ok. No flows, nothing.

    6. That is great that there was no leaking accident. I can only imagine the aftermath....
I usually just squeeze out all the ink and keep the cartridge, in case I need the cartridge for later.

    7. You also keep the empty cartridges right? I do the same too :)

    8. Though cartridge is a pain, it does come in handy when you need them. So I always save them just in case.

    1. Umarım olacak. Sadece 2 Kasım'a denk gelmeme durumu var kardeşimin ameliyatından dolayı. Eger davetimi kabul ederseniz gayet de mutlu olurum :)

Sevgiler
