Waterman Harmonious Green Ink

Merhabalar,

Sevgiler,

Zeynep Hıdıroğlu

This week's ink is Waterman Harmonious Green. As sun started showing its face and as the spring started despite the cold air I wanted to have a green ink on the blog.

Waterman inks are the reliable, fairly priced inks of the market. It is my fault that they were not mentioned a lot in this blog. However, the best thing I love about this inks are the bottles. Even though they are not fancy, they are quite functional. Because of its facades, you can have a pool of ink when you tilt the bottle.

Waterman Harmonious Green is a nice shade of green complying well with its name. Like other Waterman inks, they are problem-free, matching with all pens and easily flushed from the pen. It is just not good with water, it might be the only deficiency about this ink.

And here is the great sheen on the pool of Waterman Harmonious Green. What is your favorite Waterman ink?

Cheers,

Zeynep Vertovert

  3. Thanks kindly for including Waterman Harmonious Green. I have recently returned to Waterman...after far, far too much wading in the pools of other inks. You have reminded of what I have missed (and of why I ought never to have left haha). Your Pelikan is a wonderful color. I almost bought that same pen nearly 20 years ago, but decided it was better for the hands of a lovely woman. I am sure the pen feels honored to be in your hands!

I've begun to read your blog only recently, but your words are a pleasure...though I must read English-only. Your handwriting in Turkish is really beautiful to see.

    1. Thank you for your kind comment Bebe. I am wondering how a vintage Pelikan tortoise looks like after 20 years. (We can call it vintage right?)

    1. Su ile silindiği için arası kötü dedim. Son fotoğrafta mürekkebin revnak'ı belli oluyor kırmızı kırmızı.

  5. I have tried almost every fountain pen ink made until few years ago when I decided not to purchase expensive ones such as Edelstein by Pelikan, Faber Castelle, and Pilot all around $35 per bottle retail. Good inks are the Waterman almost all of their colors are good except red and black which writes more grey than black(my opinion), Diamine is excellent ink, Aurora black (true black) and blue are excellent, Pelikan is an excellent ink also. J Herbin is good but I found some of their colors in green and light blue feather even on good paper otherwise good ink. Now I am into Diamine majestic and Mediterranean blue, ultra green, red dragon and crimson colors are wonderful colors.

    1. Sometimes we end up where we start! I guess this is same for fountain pens and inks. I am also not favoring my Waterman black ink, as you said it is more gray then being a solid black. My favorite blacks are Aurora and Montegrappa.

Diamine is a great brand, however some colors (like burgundies of the brand) are a bit hard to clean or drying in the nib easily. J. Herbin has some really washed away colors like bouquet d'antan (I hope I wrote it correctly)
